and i dont have any intension to offend ron.

i am just saying that the pimp tache is sexy, even though i dont like moustaches at all.

i also wanted to add a category for people who dont like moustaches, but i didnt see any option to edit the poll...
(well, i am new here)

any way...you didnt vote in my silly poll ! :)

Er... for me the best of the best would be the small one from my avatar and this totally asymmetrical one (courtesy Boy From Holland):

I know this asymmetry from other pictures too, but here it's probably the most visible.

Must agree with Alex... damn it. There's a good deal of variation in the moustache styles Ron wears. I was thinking of running a poll on this myself but I ended up getting confused about where one style ended and another began. As afar as I can make out there are three basic moustache types Ron has sported over the years... 1. The infamous one... that reminds some people of the terrible dictator, Charles Chaplin 2. A pencil moustache that has two vertical lines running up to the nostrils and 3. a pencil moustache that sits on the upper lip without the adjoining lines to the nostrils. The problem is that all of these are then varied by the thickness. Earlier Ron toothbrush moustache was really quite bushy and more triangular than square... then it got smaller (and Jewish friends stopped calling)... Then it went pencil but wavered between a rather thick pencil (a crayon?) to a very thin one in a Clark Gable style (Grat Sax time), then it got more Little Richard than Gable and just sat snugly around the upper lip. As you can tell I've given this a good deal of thought and I'm still confused. Here's some examples of what I'm referring to anyway:

I suppose my least favourite has to be the first one... the freaky eyeliner doesn't help! The so-called Hitler one is a classic and I love it but as far as handsome looking ones go it's got to be the Gable that extends in two thin lines up to the nose. Looks like someone tried to draw a moustache on Russell with a red pen in one of these pics... It doesn't suit him. Oh and lest I forget...

Too freaky for words!

since i dont have the option of "i hate taches" i will let the "others" include "none" :) so now you can vote! :)

i was not sure that ron had "others" beside the two styles i mentioned.

do you say ron did have at least 3 "others"?...

See L-I-L's post...
The early days "zapata"-ish style should be counted too!

And looking at Lady's avatar, I guess there has to be a "moustacheless" option too :))

I just gave Ron Russell's upper lip. On the photoshop thread in stuff and nonsense I gave Russell Ron's 'tasch... It looks truly awful on him. I think Russell's face is too small and feminine-looking to suit a moustache. Ron of course suits one very well. I'd love to see him in a Pancho Villa.

Silly me, I forgot that with the magic of photoshop I could actually see what Ron might look like with a Pancho Villa... now that'll make 'em think...

Ronald Colman and Fu Manchu to follow...

@ Corina: But you can have it both ways... It was so funny that at 21x21 he sported all the time his ultrathin moustache, except for the evening of "Kimono My House", when he added a small "toothbrush" (like that one from my avatar).

@ Lady: Pancho Villa? But maybe you know the "Zapata" one, as Alex said. That very old picture where Ron has big afro hair and a huge moustache all over his mouth and Russell has some Victorian whiskers.

As about Russell, the horror actually happened.
"You did swap, didn’t you? You did some photos of Russell with the Ron Moustache.
Russ: We did at one point, but I looked so ridiculous with a moustache that we stopped pretty quickly."

Why the question mark Jill? I just gave Ron the Pancho Villa treatment to see what he'd look like with one cause it's mentioned in Moustache. I know the photo of R&R you mentioned but I photoshopped Ron into this Pancho Villa photo (and stuck Pancho Villa's moustache on him) to accord with the song.

The question mark was because I left this page open for too long and didn' refresh it to see your post with the photoshopped picture - so I was responding here to your previous post, from 1.30 am. I didn't figure out that you want to take the song literally :))

Ah, I see... well, that's me, Ms Literal... or more precisely Ms. Any Excuse to Fiddle the Maels... not literally of course but in photoshop... ahem...

So go on!! (you can also draw the part with what did Ron have for lunch, but I'm afraid it'll be a little more difficult...)
