Wow! Gotta say - loved the show last night, esp. Equator & Falling in love with myself again. Thank goodness for the live streaming I will be watching every single one! *grins insanely* |

Definitely! Russell really does appear to have taken very good care of his voice. |

Thanks for that BMR! And looking at the pictures, a gorgeous silver suit as well.
Makes me wonder if we might see some sequinned suits when we get to "Angst in My Pants"? Funny thought that, but erm, probably not. I still want one of those suits!
Since I'm on silly aesthetic matters, someone asked why Russell is always messing with his hair. I think (purely speculative here) that he and Ron have naturally curly hair. He probably straightens it to get that long fringe and when it gets warm onstage it starts to sproinge a bit. |

Yes, he did and my wife was lucky enough to be able to scramble around on the floor and find them. I felt so exhilerated in being able to get them. They are 'Aspire LP' castanets in what loks like a light ash wood. Nice quality.
The night was superb and the performance was great. Shame in some respects though that the album peaks early on - the first side of this album is just so strong, finishing with the climactic "Thank God It's Not Christmas".
What a night and what a souvineer to get. I still can't believe it. |

What’s more, Ron had even changed his moustache to the classic ‘Hitler’ look, and save for the odd extra line didn’t look 34 years older than the fellow on the rear sleeve of Kimono My House! |
OMG! AHHHH! I want to see photos.

Cue more rapturous applause, and the first bow, but a second clunker – this time Steve’s beautiful Rickenbacker 4001 took an off-balance dive straight onto the floor, causing him to miss the bow and look extremely distraught, (and rightly so since they’re not cheap!!). When they came back out for the encore, a quick fix took place while Russell re-told his story of rubbish hairspray. |

Yes, I'm certain they both have curly hair and Russell straightens his. _________________ Popshifter.com: One Giant Leap For Fankind

If any one from the promotions or band check these forum posts, can I kindly request that the dreadfully dull 'DJ' is not allowed to taint the prospect of any future shows. His performance was TOTALLY AT ODDS with the whole Kimono vibe as was demonstrated by the masses in the crowd. I think that it may be his best move to take his DJ equipment to the nearest 'Cash converters' store and take whatever they offer him for it! |
He wasn't terrible, to be fair (under pretty much any other circumstance, I'd happily spend an evening dancing to the stuff he played) but you're gonna be on a hiding to nothing playing for two hours in a room rapidly filling up with eager Sparks punters. I don't think any band/ DJ/ whatever could've pleased that crowd.
Still, it was nice to hear 'The Things That Dreams Are Made Of' by The Human League though. I'm gonna put Dare on now, in fact. |

It was absolutely PACKED for this one - I heard a couple of arguments about someone standing in front of someone else who had been there for hours etc etc - the usual problem at rammed standing-only gigs. My tactic is to find someone shorter than me (usually my brother, as I will when he comes along to some later on in the run), stand directly behind them and never let anyone walk in front of me, always behind. It worked quite well where I was, about half way back.
I've stood around the same place each time for the first three nights, and although it was much busier, I thought the sound had improved once again. It'll be absolutely perfect just in time for the albums with no guitars.
Fabulous stuff once again, although I always think that the album fades ever so slightly during side 2. I thought the performance was just about as good as at Meltdown, just that the conditions for watching were rather more cramped - and we unfortunately didn't get Lost And Found this time, shame...
And I'm actually really enjoying the fact that each set is only an hour or so, as I even get home at a sensible time - but then I live locally enough not to have to travel for hours or stay in a hotel for a month. |

DJ - Anyone else notice the last track he played was a 'good morning' mix. I just think people were getting fed up of standing there for 2 hours.

No Eve, sorry I didn't notice the good morning mix I was too busy chewing my own arm off! _________________ (physically) physically,I'm splendid

This was one of my favourites and I wasn't disappointed....Electric atmosphere - once the DJ had been surgically removed - Who, incidentally, mixed a dire version of Good Morning - Massacre Mix, anyone? Am not recovered from the first three nights and probably wont be the same again.....Sparks heaven.....And when Russell let us all join in on Equator, indeed I had 'died' and gone to Sparks heaven.....A brilliant night, many thanks to the guys in the band and Ron & Russ 'We love you' See you on Friday..... _________________ ....It's the calm before the storm...... |
